Belleville Rotarian Marc Cabrera recently spent one week with other Rotarians in Honduras working on constructing a new school. The project was phase one of the "Corazones Y Manos Para Honduras" - Hearts and Hands for Honduras. Rotarians from District 6400 (of which Belleville is a part), local Rotarians from Honduras and citizens of the town of Santa Cruz spent two weeks laying of foundations and erecting of concrete block and rebar for walls. The finished school has six classrooms with an indoor bathroom facilities.

In a future phase, a water filtration system will be installed in the school to provide clean water to both the school and the town of Santa Cruz.
Rotary District 6400 raised $52,000 for the materials associated with construction of the new school. This project is just one of many which Rotary clubs around the world participate in to improve living conditions and build better relations between people.
