"It should be between us and Garden City for the title," Koebbe said. "With tryouts and everything we have 15 golfers for varsity and junior varsity."
The number one golfer on the team this season is senior Zach McCurley. Number two for Belleville is junior Daniel Belanger. The number three on the team is junior Nathan Hand and the next golfer is junior Jon Siterlet.
"Those are the top golfer on the team," he said. "We will have to see who will play varsity and who will play junior varsity from there."
He said the challenge has been the change in the practice routine.
"We have run and lifted a lot more than in the past," he said. "The delay with the cold weather has caused us to do this more. I am really pleased with how we are training."
According to him every coach is go to do things differently. He has been an assistant with the program for the past two years and been able to do a very good job with the junior varsity and getting the numbers up at that level
"We have a lot of freshmen on and sophomores on the team this year," he said. "Plus I believe in recruiting from the middle schools as well."
Some of the tournaments the boys will be in this season are the Carleton Airport Invitational, the Tecumseh Invitational, The Taylor Invitational and the Onsted Invitational.
"I am really excited about the team," he said. "They have great attitudes and I think they will be very successful. Our goal is to win the league and qualify at regionals as a team to go to the state meet.'
The first match for the quest for the league title is scheduled at Harbour Club on April 16 against Redford Union.
