The 2008 season for the boys' track team didn't start out quite as well as Belleville Coach George Devore would have liked. The Tigers fell twice in the opening week to Mega Red opponents.

The first meet on April 8 was a nail bitter for the locals who fell to Romulus 71-68.
"It was a close meet that could have went either way," Devore commented. "We had some great performances from our men."
Lorenzo Reese won the high jump with a personal best jump of six-feet and four inches. Steve Else won the 110-meter high hurdles (15.02) and the 300-meter hurdles (39.97).
Sergai Anderson won the 1,600-meter run (5:15) and the 3,200-meter run (10:43). Kashawn Wooten won the 800-meter run (2:13) and Varick Tucker won the 400-meter dash (49.23).
On April 10 the locals fell to Dearborn Fordson 75-58.
"Steve Else was the runner of the meet with two firsts in the hurdle races, a close second in the 100-meter dash along with a winning anchor leg of the 4x100 meter relay," he said.
Belleville won all the relays against the Tractors.
Anderson won the pole vault and Wooten won the 800-meter run.
The Tigers are at the Ypsilanti April Showers on Saturday and this past Tuesday they ran at Dearborn High.
The entire team is going to the April Showers with the exception of Tucker who will be at the Mansfield Relays in Ohio competing in the 400-meter dash
